Sanction Completion Guidelines

All sanction assignments must be completed according to the following guidelines:

  • All sanction assignments must be the student's own original work.
  • All essays must be typed, double-spaced in 12 point Times New Roman font with one inch margins on all sides. Pages must start at the top of the page, one inch from the top.
  • All sanction assignments must meet the length and/or content requirements indicated in the sanction letter.
  • All sanction assignments must be completed according to UCR Academic Integrity policies.
  • All written submissions must be proofread and should contain minimal grammatical, spelling, punctuation or other errors.
  • Where used, all sources in essays must include citations and references according to MLA or APA format.
  • All essays must be submitted in Word or text file format via email to conduct@ucr.edu.
  • Essays are not be utilized to justify one’s own actions or to evaluate, criticize or place blame on other parties.

Essays are submitted to Safe Assignment. Sanction assignments which are not done in accordance with the above guidelines will be considered incomplete. This could result in the student having to re-submit the assignment and/or it may be grounds for further disciplinary action, including, but not limited to the placement of an Administrative Hold on the student’s record.
