Handling Classroom Disruption

Resources and Guidelines for Handling Classroom Distruption

Students and faculty/instructors each have responsibility for maintaining an appropriate learning environment. Students who fail to adhere to behavioral standards may be subject to discipline. Faculty and instructors have the professional responsibility to treat students with understanding, dignity and respect, to guide classroom discussion and to set reasonable limits on the manner in which students may express opinions.  Disruptive students in the academic setting hinder the educational process.

Below you find resources in which to assist you with assisting and also preventing classroom-related issues.  If you need further consultation or would like a SCAIP representative to schedule a time to visit you department, please contact us at 951-827-4208.
